Charges were reportedly dropped in 2007 due to a Mexican statute of limitations having expired, though whether this is actually the case is unconfirmed. On 14th September 2006, he was re-arrested in Hawaii with his son Leland Chapman and one other associate, and held for extradition back to Mexico.
